The room is locked to restrict anyone else from entering your houseparty. Tap on the ‘Lock’ icon on the bottom of the screen, and it’ll be done. People can still ask you to join, and you’ll be notified for the same, but you may or may not add them, as per your convenience.
To keep your houseparty room locked, by default, click on the ‘Smiley’ icon on the top of the screen and go to the settings window. Turn the slider on for the ‘Privacy Mode’ to keep the room locked always.
Disable Houseparty notifications
Whenever you open the Houseparty application, your friends will get notified about the same. Not just your friends, but you’ll get notified each time someone opens the application. You can turn off these annoying notifications whenever you like.
Click on the ‘Smiley’ icon on the home screen and go to the ‘Manage notifications’ window. Here you can make changes to stop and receive notifications from the Houseparty application.
How to change your username on Houseparty?
If you want to trick your friends or change the complex name to a simpler one, you can choose to change your name on the app that will appear to everyone. You can also set a display picture for your account.
To do the same, go to the settings window and click on the pink cog icon.
How to record on Houseparty?
If you want to talk to someone via Houseparty, and the person is not available, you can choose to record a video message and send it to the one. Whenever they see your message, you’ll be notified.
Tap on the three-dotted icon on the left bottom of the home screen window, and you’ll be able to do it.
Note: No one gets notified about the video message you’re recording.
