To keep the photos, files, and other data safe, there are numerous apps that exist in the Android Play Store. However, trusting on third-party apps is not always the right thing, and sometimes the mobile device doesn’t support it. So whoever uses the Samsung Galaxy Mobile phones, does not need to download any third party app because Samsung has its Secure Folder default app to keep the data safe. If you don’t want anyone to see photos and files of your device, you can simply put those certain files into the Secure Folder.
It will hide the photos and files, and no one will be able to see that data. On all Samsung devices, this app is available, but if your device is old, you can download it from Play Store as well. Using Secure Folder is completely easy, but the only thing you need to remember is password. Do not forget the password once you set up the Secure Folder and added files and apps in it. Now before using it, you need to enable it, and then you can choose the files and photos to hide within the device.
How to Enable the Secure Folder
Launch “Settings” app.
Slide down and move to the “Biometrics and Security” option.
Slide down and click on the “Secure Folder” option.
Agree on “Terms and Conditions.”
Wait for a while and let the system create “Secure Folder.”
Select the Secure Folder “lock-type” option or choose to access with “Biometrics.”
Mention the PIN, Pattern, and Password and then confirm it.
Once you are in the Secure Folder, you will be able to “Add Files” and “Add Apps” by tapping on the following.
Samsung’s Knox security platform will protect your data if you keep it in the secure Folder. Secure Folder is an additional app in the device that you can access anytime you want. You need to access the app by verifying the lock. Your personal apps and data will be in a protected place.
You can add more data into the Secure Folder or remove the already added data by editing. All the items existing into Secure Folder can be moved or copied. Although, if you create any file or content into the Secure Folder, so by default, that file will exist in that. However, you can move that created file out of Secure Folder easily.
Indeed it is better to use the default app rather than using any third-party app. You will have some advantage if you use the default app. You don’t have to use additional space to download the app, and the default app is a trusted app of Samsung. Every flagship device of Samsung has the same security features, so you don’t have to worry about Knox security.
