Did You Watch the Trailer of “His House”?

The upcoming film, His House, will feature a talented ensemble of Sope Dirisu, Wunmi Mosaku, and Matt Smith.

The film relays a story about a young couple who come from a conflicted region of Sudan in the hope of getting a better life at their new house in a small town of England, but they meet an evil spirit that wreaks their plans of happiness and sends the couple to a new distressing reality.

The asylum-seeking couple has a big problem- they cannot stay, and they cannot escape. The unspeakable horrors envelop their lives as the devil continues to whisper curses behind the curtains.

The writer and director of the film Remi Weekes made a statement in which he described the film as a haunted story but not a typical haunted story. He said the film is about two asylum seekers who come to England from war-torn South Sudan in the hope of finding peace in a foreign country, but they meet an evil spirit that fills horrors in their new asylum home. Weekes alluded to the fact that the thing which is different in this film is the fact that the couple does not have the luxury to leave their home.

He explained that the film has an underlying social message as well as philosophical viewpoints. He said that the fact that the couple cannot move despite their pain and agony alludes to the present day scenario in the UK where asylum seekers have to follow same old age rules in order to receive an accommodation.

He illustrated the philosophical aspect of the film with the case of a trauma. He said that when people are in trauma, they find ways to escape their mental demons while also simultaneously figuring out a way to survive it.

Matt Smith will also be featuring in the film. You may know Smith from hit series like “Doctor Who” and Netflix Primetime Emmy Award-nominated series “The Crown.”

Halloween time is approaching, and we will see tons of horror content on OTT platforms. Mike Flanagan’s sequel to the international hit series “Haunting of the Hill House” will also arrive on Netflix on October the 9th, 2020.

“The Haunting of Bly Manor” will feature almost the same cast barring a few new faces like Rahul Kohli. Few old faces like The Invitation actor Michiel Huisman, Carla Gugino, and Elizabeth Reaser will likely be absent in the series.
